My Silly Dream
I have a silly dream. I blow out candles every year and make a silly wish. I read newspaper headlines and allow myself silly fantasies. I dream and wish and fantasize about a world where children are safe.
What would it take to identify monsters before they hurt a child instead of after the damage is done? Couldn’t we stop children from dying at the hands of their parents and caregivers if in fact we looked a little harder? Isn’t there a way to help people see that parenting is an honor and that children are jewels?
I told you it was a silly dream.

I don’t think it’s silly at all.
You’re a jewel yourself, dear Tricia.

This is my dream too. Everything in me screams for this. It is the passion of my heart to be the protector of children and to show parents what an honor it is for them to get to be parents…that these gifts that they have been bestowed, are precious gifts, not to be taken lightly.

I think it’s a wonderful dream.
I just don’t know how it can be done without the existing systems becoming even more intrusive than they already are in some places.

Dream, yes. Silly, no. I always dream of the day when our girls will be safe with us.

Oh, yes. What a wonderful world it would be. You know I’ve been processing my feelings on religion lately. There are times I wish there were a mighty God who showed himself regularly and struck down those intending to harm a child before they had the opportunity to do so. If I were God, that’s what I’d do with my all-knowingness.

Spread the word and even dreams can come true! Children are precious and you are correct as parents we must honor them by protecting them! It can indeed happen … with hope, knowledge, support, and education (not in the formal sense). If we do not dream and have hope then what do we have? I truly believe that often we live to our expectations, so I expect that all parents will one day protect their children.
Thanks for dreaming and sharing!

I dream of living in a world that Louis Armstrong sings about in my very favorite song in the whole world. What a Wonderful World. *sigh*

Oh my sweet, if you don’t have dreams, you have night mares. Keep on dreaming!
I love your dream. It isn’t silly at all. I think we should all have it.
Silly? I don’t think so. I think it would be silly to feel any other way. It’s a lovely dream.
I think it’s a beautiful dream. Beautiful and not in the least bit silly.

Tricia, dear, I’ve got something for you over on my site.

Tricia,
That is not a silly dream at all. Childhood is a time when children should be care free. I know some may think this is silly or even wrong… but I think anyone who robs a child of that time by molesting, injuring or murdering should be permanently branded…since we are unable to keep sickos in a jail forever…put a dang stamp on their forehead so that everyone who looks at them knows they are a SCUM BAG!

This is so true. A big dream, a wonderful dream and in no way silly. I just wrote an article about Predator Proofing Your Children that was published yesterday at Root & Sprout.
This is always in the forefront of my mind…..
Thanks for sharing your dream
