No Place Like Home

At least I think there’s no place like home, but since I’m stuck in an airport while a tropical storm plays havoc with flight schedules, home is simply a wishful thought.
Have you ever tried explaining flight delays to a four-year-old who desperately wants to know how many more MINUTES it will be until mommy arrives home. It feels a little like trying to explain the theory of relativity to a gerbil.

Hugs to you and Aaron! Hey if you are still there at 11pm, Dan will be picking up his mom!

I am laughing so hard over that last sentence. That described the early years of my life as a parent. Now it is the other way around: the teen and almost-teen trying to explain something to me and I am the gerbil.

Its like trying to herd kittens. They are mostly cute but really frustrating to explain anything to or correl.

I hope you make it home quickly and safely!! I travelled a lot when I first returned to work after my daughter was born, and it was so hard being gone - that was before she could talk, so I’m sure it’s much more difficult for you. Wishing you much quality time with your family…and your coffee maker upon your return!
