Hope for Sex, Just Not Right Now

August 20th, 2008 • Related • Filed Under
Filed Under: Personal Insanities

According to new research, a healthy sex life is possible well into our 80s.

The findings said nothing about a healthy sex life while in our parenting years. I suppose researchers thought it’d be senseless to study between-the-sheet antics of 30 and 40 years olds. After all, many of us have small children at home and professional lives to contend with—an exhausting combination that leaves little time for anything besides sleeping between the sheets.

According to the study, 68 percent of men between 57 and 85 reported having sex last year, as did 42 percent of women. However more older women might have wanted to have sex, but there just aren’t as many available older men for them to partner with.

As long as we can find a man with a heartbeat, old age is looking better and better. Oh and one other nugget, drinking alcohol daily improved women’s interest in and pleasure from sex. Maybe my 20s and my 80s will have more in common than I thought.

This is useful information. :) I will have to remember to keep Bear nice and healthy… Otherwise, my 20s and 80s will be about the same thing, finding a man.

That’s good to hear! I fully intend to return to wild bunny sex as soon as the kids stop saying “Mooo-ooom” every 2 minutes.

I wonder though, will it be as good at that age?

I have nothing to add. Perhaps I am blushing slightly.
Although, I have heard that there is a connection between men enjoying coffee and men enjoying more nookie, and I have to think this is proof GOD loves us.

Yeah, but what if you’re 80 and your back hurts? Or your lumbago is acting up? Or last night’s dinner is repeating on you? Or your dentures fall out right when you climax? Or your pacemaker keeps getting squished?

Or do you have to be HEALTHY to have a HEALTHY sex life in your 80s?
