An Award and a skirt!

I’m really excited to join the group of bloggers over at skirt! magazine. I’ve been reading skirt! since it arrived in Atlanta two years ago and it’s one of my favorite guilty pleasures. Their community of bloggers includes some great writers and question-posers, so if you have a minute, take a look around.

To see my very first skirt! entry, please mosey on over to read The Passive Aggressive and The Expressive Latin.

In Other News…

Yesterday an interesting e-mail arrived that at first I thought was a hoax. Whenever someone tells me I’ve won something, I’m immediately skeptical. If an e-mail or voice message starts with the word, “Congratulations,” I just know someone is trying to take me for a ride or at the very least to separate me from some hard-earned cash. This time my curiosity won out and I did a little digging around. And here’s what I’ve discovered.

There’s a blog titled The Rising Blogger that reviews individual posts from around the blogsphere and each day they highlight something they like. Yesterday they chose my post, Turn The Car Around. We’re Having a Baby. I’m not sure if the post was nominated by someone else, or if their reviewers stumbled onto Shout themselves. Thank You.

In response to having a post chosen, you can “pay it forward” and submit someone else’s post for consideration. You guys already know who’s post I submitted, right? There’s no doubt in your mind, right? If there is, you really need to read about the Women’s Colony over at Derwfad Manor. Even if you already have a retirement plan, you’ll want to change it.

The Women’s Colony post is a classic for sure. Although I think her marriage advice is my absolute favorite.

Families and communication. Have you met my mil? Her first name is Passive and her middle name is Agressive. Sigh.
