Serenading the Pope With a Bit of Politics

There’s only a tiny bit of political maneuvering on the White House lawn this morning, don’t you think.
Having the U.S Army serenade the Pope, who does not support the war in Iraq, with The Battle Hymn of The Republic immediately following His Holy Father’s comments about the need for increased American diplomacy within the international community in order to create freedom where all of “…God’s children can sit at the table as brothers and sisters…” well, does anyone think the choice of song was left to chance?
